Wire Wound

Wire Wound

Wire Wound cylinder brushes are made by machining a helical groove in a heavy wall tube. The tube material can be metallic, wood or plastic. Fibers are than secured into the groove with a stainless steel retaining wire.

The advantage of this method is that brushes can be made that are extremely full. The core can be refilled many times as the fiber wears out. The retention of the fiber in a wire wound cylinder brush is extremely good.
